Back in May of 2009, my wife and I did something I never actually thought I would do…. we bought a house.
It wasn’t that I didn’t want to ever buy a house, it’s just that I never thought I would 1) have the money to buy a house, and 2) find a place I wanted to live long enough to buy it. But buy it we did, and we love our little 3 bedroom / 2 bath abode.
However, it seems we aren’t the only ones who love it. Other than the Wallin family of 3, we have several thousand uninvited guests. ANTS. And like a well trained Army, they are slowly and methodically invading every sector of the house. At first they seemed content to creep onto the kitchen counter and sniff around for crumbs. Then they discovered the water reservoir on my new Keurig coffee maker. Now whenever I want to enjoy a nice cup of coffee I must first go through the ritual of spraying it down with the sprayer-thingy on the sink to get all of the ants out of it. Veeeeery frustrating.
This brings me to yesterday…. I was about to grab a shower, but when I opened the sliding doors to my tub I noticed a few ants. I grabbed some Windex and sprayed ‘em dead.
But there were MORE. LOTS more.
And that wasn’t all of them. I sprayed and sprayed some more, and still kept finding more of them. I’m a big guy and all, but there were so many that I began to fear they were planning to swarm me en mass and carry me back to their Queen as a gourmet buffet in her honor.
Unfortunately for them, I was armed with Windex.
Unfortunately for me, this means I have to call an Exterminator now.
Damn dirty ants!
